Back at it again in the Owens Valley. I only had two or three hours to hunt before lights out. I decided to check out a portion of the Owens I've yet to hunt. Within the first 20 minutes, Kaiser and I jumped a pair of greenheads but they were too far for me to feel comfortable with the shot. At over $3 a round, I don't want to be risking low probability far shots. Hiking over 2 miles we were unable to locate anymore. We raced back and with the sun setting in the next hour, we made our way to Copenhagen Hill in the hopes of pass shooting some ducks. But the only birds seen were a murder of crows. We didn't even seen one duck at a distance. Tomorrow we try again...
